Important Message To All Customers:

   
It has come to our attention that some of our customers have received telephone calls from an unknown external source who claims to be calling on behalf of Subaru Canada, Inc regarding their vehicle’s warranty. This problem has been reported by a number of other manufacturers as well.
 
During these calls the customer is notified that their warranty is about to expire and is subsequently offered an option to extend or reactivate their warranty, followed by a request for a sum of money.
 
If you are called, be careful when disclosing personal or financial information over the telephone.
 
Customers can best protect themselves from this potentially fraudulent activity by:

•    Asking detailed questions of the caller in order to ascertain the legitimacy of the call
•    Requesting a number to call back, or
•    Requesting the caller make the offer in writing

Another key point to note for customer awareness is that Subaru Canada does not under any circumstances solicit customers directly by telephone for the purpose of selling products and/or services. These functions are performed solely by your dealership, Subaru of Hamilton.

Although we can not control criminal activity, we can make ourselves aware of potential crimes. As such, we wanted to inform you of the above information in an effort to prevent damage via this particular potential criminal activity.
