Walker’s FBI man gets behind the wheel of the Japanese import when he reminds Dom that he owes him a 10 second car. Without missing a beat, Dom smashes the window of the impounded Subaru and quips, “now, we’re even”. The Subaru takes over from O’Conner’s previous motor, the Nissan Skyline which is driven during the L.A. street race, earning its moment of big screen glory during the final climactic chase through the underground tunnels that connect America with Mexico.
The Subaru has already been hailed as the “Halo car” of the film and
it’s little wonder with some of the mods made to the world rally car.
Many interior and exterior changes come thanks to Veilside, such as the
seats, steering wheel, body kit and hood. The exhaust system is
courtesy of Remus Racing and the paint job is a stunning black and
silver with red pinstriping that manages to look good even when
battered about in the final pursuit. A 10 second car to be seriously
proud of.
